Zaire 74 was a three-day live music festival that took place on September 22 to 24, 1974 at the 20th of May Stadium in Kinshasa, Zaire. Performers included B.B. King, TPOK Jazz, Celia Cruz, Fania All-Stars, Bill Withers, Franco, Miriam Makeba, James Brown, Tabu Ley Rochereau, The Spinners, Abeti Masikini and others. The concert was essentially a promotional event for the heavyweight championship match between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman, famously known as ‘Rumble in the Jungle’
